Rider profile

Jempy Drucker is one of six national champions on BMC Racing Team’s 2017 roster after he secured the win at the Luxembourg National Time Trial Championships following two years on the second step of the podium.

Racing on home soil must suit the Luxembourgish rider as his first individual victory of 2017 came on stage one of the Škoda Tour de Luxembourg, a year after he took victory in the opening prologue of the race.

Drucker’s third win of the 2017 season came on stage 4 of the VOO – Tour de Wallonie after a perfectly timed sprint saw him move through the bunch before throwing his bike over the line to secure the stage win in a photo finish.

Despite being part of the winning team time trial at the 2015 Vuelta a Espana - Drucker’s first Grand Tour - an individual stage seemed elusive with Drucker posting three top five finishes over the three-week race in 2016. However, his motivation and determination never wavered and in 2016, Drucker achieved an impressive first: his first individual Grand Tour stage win. He battled it out in a tricky sprint finish on Stage 16 of the Vuelta a Espana to stand on top of the podium.

Drucker’s first win as a professional cyclist came in 2015 at the Prudential Ride London & Surrey Classic and since then he has become one to watch out for at the front of the race when it comes to bunch sprints.
