Bresset Forced To Postpone Season Start14. marzo 2019 — Melanie Leveau — MTB Team
Following a severe crash while training with the French National Team, Julie Bresset is forced to push the beginning of her 2019 season back by a few weeks.
Julie Bresset was taking part in a technical training camp in the south of France with the female MTB National Team when she overshot a jump and fell heavily on her left shoulder. After a thorough examination run last Monday, the diagnosis was established: rupture of ligaments. The French rider won’t undergo surgery but will have to respect four weeks of immobilization to allow a perfect recovery before a progressive comeback, on the road bike first.
“I am very upset with myself” said Bresset. “I have been training really hard all winter to be ready for the new season... I was having a lot of fun training on the technical features and feeling confident on my new bike. I really didn’t see the crash coming.”
Julie Bresset will join the Team camp in Boulouris at the end of the month. However, she won’t ride her bike neither there nor at the French Cup in Marseille where she was supposed to kick her season off. Her first race with the BMC MTB Racing Team is now planned at the Proffix Swiss Bike Cup in Solothurn, a week before the opening round of the UCI MTB World Cup in Albstadt.
