Emma Pallant takes 2nd place in Challenge Davos

Sep 15, 2019

Emma Pallant finished 2nd in Challenge Davos. She crossed the line in a time of 4:05:49. Radka Kahlefeldt (CZE; 3:58:23) cliched the win with Giorgia Priarone (ITA; 4:14:46) rounding out the podium.

Strong performance one week after IM70.3 WC in Nice

Only a week after taking a very solid 9th place at the IM70.3 World Championship in Nice, Emma was at the start line in Challenge Davos. Pallant began the day with a strong swim, exiting the water in 2nd place. The BMC-Vifit athlete jumped on her bike with a deficit of 1’30 over leader Kahlefeldt. The 54k out-and-back bike course with a lot of altitude made for a very tough and technical ride. At the turn around, Emma had opened up a gap of nearly 3’ over 3rd place. But returning to T2, the British athlete had lost more ground on Kahlefeldt and it looked like the win was out of reach. Starting the run, Emma was well in control of 2nd place. With Kahlefeldt 7’30 in front of her and Priarone in 3rd following 2’20 back, Pallant was in a good place to secure her second place. She kept extending her lead towards 3rd place and crossed the finish line in second place, posting the fastest running split of the day (1:21:42).

Body felt really good

Afterwards Emma reflected on her performance: “The body felt really good today and I caught up to within striking distance of the lead on the climb, but then I lost so much time on the two long descents again. But I am happy with how strong I felt. So looking forward to pushing a week in training and then hitting IM70.3 Lanzarote and IM70.3 Portugal hard.”

Manuel Küng wins Swiss International Seeland Triathlon in Murten

A week after taking the victory in Triathlon de la Côte de Beauté, Manuel Küng ran his way to another excellent win, this time in the Swiss international Seeland Triathlon in Murten. The BMC-Vifit athlete was very happy with his performance: "I ran almost 1'30 faster then when I raced here two seasons ago. So I am very pleased with my run performance. I made the difference already on the bike, but I am very satisfied that I managed to back it up with a strong run. Now I will start preparing for IM70.3 Lanzarote which is my next race.
