Quotes of the Day
Sport director Klaas Lodewyck said: “It was a really good start for us today! With around 50 kilometers to go, Fabian made it into a large group of 15 riders who extended a maximum advantage of 55 seconds over the peloton. On the last climb the breakaway split into three separate groups but in the end they all came back together for the final sprint. Earlier in the stage Fabian took three bonus seconds and we are now in a perfect position to continue our racing here at Ronde de l’Oise. It was also good to see Bram back in the bunch.”
Fabian Lienhard said: “I feel great after today’s stage especially after some tough training following a race with the swiss national team. I was feeling really good on the bike today. Although I wasn’t the fastest in the final sprint, I took some bonus seconds in the intermediate sprints so I am sitting second on the GC. It is definitely a good result and a great position to be in for the rest of the race.”
