Our riders clocked thousands of hours every season, whether on-race or training, so we thought it was time to put the spotlight on them to find out a little bit more about their lives both on and off their BMC Teammachine SLR01s.
Name: Marc Hirschi
Where do you call home: I live and train in Ittigen close to Berne, Switzerland
On the bike
Proudest achievement so far: Winning the Madison at the UCI Junior Track World Championship but also my two Nation's Cup wins at the Tour de Pays de Vaud and GP Patton.
Favourite thing about riding in the peloton: The speed and that feeling when you know you are really pushing on the pedals.
Favourite race: The Tour de France. It is my dream to one day race it.
Favourite place to train: Mallorca
Ultimate goal: To become a strong pro rider and one day win a stage at the Tour de France.
Off the bike
Favourite film or TV show: I like watching any and all sports on the TV.
Favourite musician or band: I listen all types of music. It depends on my mood really.
Favourite Food: Always italian food!
Best way to recover after a race: Eating some good food and lying on the couch
If you didn’t cycle what sport would you do? I think I would probably play football
Interesting fact about yourself: I can ride all disciplines of cycling; mountain bike, cyclocross, track and road cycling.
