Dennis Sixth In Worlds Time Trial23. September 2015, Richmond, Virginia (USA) — Road Team
Rohan Dennis finished sixth and was the best of the four BMC Racing Team riders competing in the individual time trial Wednesday at the UCI world road championships.
Riding for Australia, Dennis was 1:07.96 off the winning time of Vasil Kiryienka (Belarus) on the 53.5-kilometer course. Adriano Malori (Italy) won the silver medal with a time 9.08 seconds slower than Kiryienka. Jerome Coppel (France) was third, at 26.62 seconds.
Dennis was within three seconds of both Malori and Coppel at the second intermediate time check after 26.5 kms. But a technical problem forced a change of BMCs before the third check point at 42.6 km and dropped him from medal contention.
The BMC Racing Team's other three riders competing in the race against the clock were Taylor Phinney of the United States (12th, at 1:36.99) and Switzerland's Stefan Küng (19th, at 2:17.63) and Silvan Dillier (30th, at 2:56.78).
On Sunday, the quartet joined with Daniel Oss and Manuel Quinziato to help the BMC Racing Team win the team time trial for the second straight year.
