Colombo, Third in the Overall Classification of the 2018 UCI MTB World Cup

27. August 2018, La Bresse, France — Melanie Leveau — MTB Team

Thanks to a great consistency throughout the season, Filippo Colombo secured the third place in the overall classification of the 2018 UCI Mountain Bike World Cup.

Colombo took achieved his best result in Nove Mesto na Morave, Czech Republic where he finished second. He also did really well a couple of months later in the high altitude of Vallnord, Andorra where he took third place. It was finally the final round of La Bresse where he struggled the most and just rounded the top 20.

Thanks to consistent results, always in the top 8 except in La Bresse, the Swiss Champion achieved another goal of his 2018 season; a podium in the overall classification of the UCI Mountain Bike World Cup. “I’m very disappointed with today’s result but I’m glad I could secure the podium in the overall. It means I’ve been performing from March to today which means a lot to me.”

The Ticinese will now focus on the World Championships where he will also be aiming for a podium position.
