Carod Sprints to Second Victory of the Season7. May 2018, Ussel, France — MTB Team
The third round of the French Cup saw a great battle between Titouan Carod and Stéphane Tempier. For the delight of the crowd, none of the two riders managed to ride away and avoid a final sprint.
The race in Ussel was an all-French debate and the scenario was no big surprise with the favorites taking an early lead. At the end of the second lap, Titouan Carod and Stéphane Tempier (Bianchi Courtevail) were left alone at the front of the race. Both worked well together during the remaining four laps to make sure Jordan Sarrou (Team KMC Ekoï SR Suntour) would never come back.
It’s eventually in a final sprint that Titouan Carod secured his second victory of the season. “I’m super happy with this win. Last weekend in Heubach didn’t go well for me so I feel relieved today. I enjoyed the course very much; it was 100% natural, both physical and technical and my BMC Fourstroke worked perfectly.”
It’s now time for a short break before travelling to Albstadt, Germany for the second round of the Mercedez Benz UCI Mountain Bike World cup.
