BMC Development Team Ready for Tour de Savoie Mont Blanc12. June 2017, Santa Rosa, California (USA) — Development Team
BMC Development Team will be looking for further success in France when Tour de Savoie Mont Blanc gets underway on Thursday, June 15.
Sports Director Jens Blatter said that he is confident in the strength of the BMC Development Team line-up.
"Tour de Savoie Mont Blanc is going to be a really hard test with over 3,600m of climbing on the first stage alone. We are lining up with a young but motivated team, and I think there will be a lot of opportunities for the riders to go for a good result.”
“We will be heading to the race with Steff Cras as our leader for the General Classification. The parcours is well suited to him, and I think he has the ability do well. I’m also interested to see how Marc Hirschi will perform at a hard climbing stage race like this. I’m sure if his shape is good he can perform well also. For the others, this is another opportunity to gain experience and show what I know they are capable of.”
After a podium finish at Ronde de l’Isard, Steff Cras is motivated ahead of the four-day stage race.
“Tour de Savoie Mont Blanc was a late addition to my schedule, but I think it is more suited to me. I am looking forward to the opportunity to be the leader of the team, and I want to go for a really good result on the General Classification. I know the race well, and I have already had top ten finishes here in the past. I think it will be a good week. I feel in good shape and have put in a good block of training ahead of the race,” Cras explained.
