BMC Development Team Head Back to Belgium1. June 2017, Santa Rosa, California (USA) — Development Team
BMC Development Team will begin its next block of racing this weekend at the Belgian one-day race, Memorial Van Coningsloo on Sunday, June 4.
Sports Director Klaas Lodewyck said that the team is motivated looking ahead to the rest of the season.
"We are heading into a big block of stage racing this month, so this race will be the perfect opportunity for some of our riders to get back into the swing of racing. We have enjoyed a successful first part of the season, and everyone is extremely motivated to build upon this as we look towards our next goals."
"We aren't lining up this weekend with a particular leader, everyone is equally strong and will, therefore, have the chance to go for the win if the opportunity arises. Even though they had some bad luck on the cobbles at Paris - Roubaix U23, Jasper Philipsen, and Callum Scotson looked sharp, and they are now fully recovered and ready to race once again."
For Sam Dobbs, the Memorial Van Coningsloo marks a return to racing after his crash at Ronde van Vlaanderen U23.
"I've had a very up and down patch with injury and illness after my accident at Ronde van Vlaanderen U23. But, I'm finally back racing with the team. I'm looking forward to getting started and focusing on finishing this season off with a bang."
Jasper Philipsen is looking forward to once again racing on home soil.
"Paris - Roubaix U23 was a hard, really hard and it took a little while longer to recover, but I'm feeling good again now and ready to race. Memorial Van Coningsloo is a good race for gaining some speed ahead of the upcoming Giro d'Italia U23, and as it is also my last race in Belgium for a few months, I'm looking forward to giving it my all."
