Specialties and Strengths: Classics, one-day races, stage races
Simon Gerrans, who is heading into this 17th season as a professional cyclist, starts a new chapter with BMC Racing Team in 2018, bringing a wealth of knowledge and a diverse skill set to the team.
There are not many riders in the peloton with a palmarès like Gerrans with an incredible 33 victories to the Australian rider’s name including Milan-San Remo in 2012 and Liège–Bastogne–Liège in 2014.
The two-time Australian national road race champion has also recorded four Grand Tour stage wins and spent two days in the yellow jersey at the 2013 Tour de France. Gerrans is also a four-time winner of the Santos Tour Down Under and joins fellow former winners and countrymen, Richie Porte and Rohan Dennis, at BMC Racing Team.
