Rider profile

After graduating from BMC Development Team in 2015, Dylan Teuns is enjoying a breakthrough season this year, having already shown great potential in stage and one-day races over the past two years.

Having proved his ability as a Classics rider with top twenty finishes at Amstel Gold Race and Liège-Bastogne-Liège in 2016, Teuns once again showed how suited he is to the Ardennes races when he secured the first UCI WorldTour podium result of his career, finishing third at this year’s La Flèche Wallonne.

The firsts continued for the Belgian rider when he headed back onto home soil at the VOO Tour de Wallonie. After securing the leader’s jersey on stage 2, Teuns stamped his authority on the race by claiming his first pro win on stage 3 before going one better and securing his maiden stage race win in emphatic style by riding to solo victory on stage 5.

Teuns’ winning streak continued when he headed to the start line at the Tour of Poland. After securing his first UCI WorldTour stage win on day three, Teuns moved into the leader's jersey on stage 6 after a consistent show of strength and determination. On the final stage, Teuns gave it everything he had, and following a strong display of teamwork, he crossed the line to seal another stage race win.

Once again, Teuns proved that success breeds success when he led the Arctic Race of Norway from start to finish, securing victory on stage one before riding away from the rest of the field on stage 4 to secure the overall title, his eighth win of the season and third overall win in as many weeks.

Other results include third at the 2015 Volta Limburg Limburg and 4th overall at the 2016 Baloise Belgium Tour. At the 2015 Criterium du Dauphine, Teuns was part of the winning Team Time Trial team and in 2016 Teuns raced the Vuelta a Espana, his first Grand Tour.
