37.5® Technology
At 37.5°C, the human body functions at its peak. It is so finely tuned in this way, that thermoregulation systems such as perspiration and shivering work constantly to ensure that core body temperature and relative humidity remain as close to 37.5°C/% as possible.
37.5® is a dynamic thermoregulation technology triggered by humidity. When the body is hot, active particles embedded into 37.5® material use energy to remove moisture and cool you down. When the body is cold, active particles retain energy to warm you up. In essence 37.5® Technology makes for more efficient thermoregulation and works similarly to a cooling vest, reducing the increase in core body temperature during activity, therefore improving performance. This is achieved via a combination of two natural, active particles: activated carbon from coconut shells and a mineral from volcanic sand. Both are waste products of the food and water filter industries.
One gram of activated carbon has the surface area of two tennis courts, making it extremely absorbent. Similarly, due to its billions of micropores, volcanic sand has a huge surface area and high absorbency. These active particles are combined and embedded into fibers that later form fabric with an extremely high absorbency capability. As a result, perspiration is removed while in its vapor state and sweating is reduced, which has a cooling effect.
Active particles from volcanic sand are also able to absorb infrared light in the spectrum that the human body emits it, and this light energy is transferred to “power” the particle. When humidity is high due to heat and sweating, the particles use energy to transfer moisture away from the body and out of the clothing, which has a cooling effect. When humidity is low due to being cool, the particles retain energy and reflect heat to prevent chilling. The outcome is a better maintained ideal core body temperature, no matter the conditions.
By combining these active particles and permanently embedding them into threads, the resulting responsive garment very efficiently reduces sweating, adsorbs odors and maintains your optimal core body temperature of 37.5°C.
Furthermore, 37.5® Technology yarns are now engineered to biodegrade at enhanced rates when placed in landfills. The additive responsible for this does not cause 37.5® Technology fibers to simply fracture into micro-plastics, but actually converts them at a molecular level down to naturally occurring byproducts like those generated from food waste. Modern landfills are increasingly able to transfer these byproducts into renewable energy.

M.I.T.I Green Soul Technology
100% recycled, 100% performance. Green Soul Technology combines the use of recycled yarn with the most environmentally friendly dyeing and finishing processes, with no compromise to the performance of the fabrics. It boasts a superb wicking capability, excellent breathability, resistance to abrasion, UV protection and high stretch for compression. A perfect balance between sustainability and performance, through the use of recycled materials.

Recycled Polyester
Polyester is durable, wrinkle-resistant, lightweight, breathable and offers UV protection, making it useful in the manufacturing of cycling garments. However, its production has multiple associated environmental impacts:
- It is partially derived from petroleum, for which the manufacturing process is highly polluting
- It is not biodegradable and therefore sits in landfill for a minimum of 20 years
- Polyester dyes contaminate water systems, causing problems to plant and animal life
- Polyester dyes are toxic to humans and continue to cause serious health problems to the dye workforce
- It uses a huge amount of water for cooling processes
So instead, we use recycled polyester, which is created from PET plastic using a certified and traceable recycling process (Global Recycled Standard, Bluesign® and OEKO-TEX® class 1 verified). PET bottles are ground, melted and reformatted into chips. Chips are then sent to yarn spinning mills where they are melted and extruded into recycled polyester fiber. By creating products from recycled polyester, less plastic goes to landfill and compared to production with regular polyester, CO2 emissions are reduced, 50% less energy is used and non-renewable energy sources are saved.

Recycled Nylon
Nylon has an excellent strength to weight ratio, good elasticity and impressive durability, making it another useful material in the manufacturing of cycling garments. Like polyester though, it has several associated environmental impacts:
- The production process creates a nasty greenhouse gas called nitrous oxide
- The production process uses huge amount of water and energy
- It’s not biodegradable, so at the end of its life it will sit in landfill for hundreds of years
So instead, we use recycled nylon, which is created from industrial waste materials. Rather than being thrown into landfill, wasted nylon and polymer produced during manufacturing is re-converted into recycled nylon yarn, using a continuous mechanical recycling process. Compared to the production of regular nylon, CO2 emissions are reduced by 53%, and less energy, water and fossil fuels are used.

Recycled Elastane
Elastane has high stretch properties, making it a perfect material for achieving race fit and high compression with no resistance. However, like polyester and nylon, it has a less than “planet friendly” production process:
- It’s a chemical-heavy and as a result, continues to cause awful health problems
- Highly polluting synthetic dyes are commonly used, affecting water quality
- Tends to biodegrade into microplastics
So instead, we use recycled elastane, created from factory residue, which instead of going to landfill gets reincorporated into production. The recycling-line means less hazardous chemical compounds, less air emissions and less energy consumption. There is also zero waste in water thanks to closed loop systems.
Renüa Recycled Polyamide
Recycled polyamide obtained from production phase wasted raw materials. This highly efficient recycling process not only ensures non-renewable resources are preserved, but also significantly reduces the consumption of CO2, energy and water required during the production process.
