Specialties and Strengths: One-day Classics, climbing
Loïc Vliegen is one of the growing number of riders who have made the transition from BMC Development Team to BMC Racing Team. As an under 23 rider Vliegen showed his strengths with a string of top ten finishes at races throughout the 2015 season.
The Belgian has already gained invaluable experience in the UCI WorldTour peloton and proved his ability in one-day races by recording his first top ten Monument finish when he sprinted to ninth place at the 2016 Amstel Gold Race.
A successful year of racing in 2016 saw Vliegen claim the Mountains Jersey at Driedaagse de Panne-Koksijde, and fouth place at Le Samyn in some of the worst racing conditions seen all year. At only 23 years old, Vliegen has a stellar career ahead of him as a professional at BMC Racing Team.
