BMC Development Team will finish off their week racing in Belgium on Sunday (March 19) when a seven-rider roster lines up at the Zuidkempense Pijl start line.

Sports Director Jens Blatter said that BMC Development Team will have multiple options at the one-day race.

“We’ve had a great start to 2017 already, and with five wins under our belt, the pressure is off a little. We aren’t chasing that first win so everyone can relax into racing and show what we are capable of as a team. We will be lining up on Sunday with a young team including four of our newest riders, but I believe that everyone is capable of making an impact on the race whether that is in the breakaway or a bunch sprint with Pierre Barbier.”

For Jasper Philipsen, Zuidkempense Pijl provides an opportunity to race on his doorstep.

“I am really motivated to race well this weekend. Zuidkempense Pijl feels like a home race for me. I know the roads and the race well, so I am really looking forward to being there with BMC Development Team this year. My form has continued to grow over the early part of the season, and with the strong team we have lining up, I think we will be able to make the best out of the opportunities that are presented to us.”
