Silvan Dillier's bid for a solo victory for the BMC Racing Team Thursday at GP Kanton Aargau ended in the last kilometer while teammate Danilo Wyss finished 10th.

In his hometown race in which he finished runner-up last year, Dillier attacked the final time up the climb on the 12.1-kilometer circuit in the 181.5 km race. He gained as much as 18 seconds' advantage but the chasing efforts of the Katusha Team reeled him in within sight of the finish line.

Alexander Kristoff (Katusha Team) took the win ahead of Michael Albasini (ORICA-GreenEDGE) and Niccolo Bonifazzio (Lampre-Merida).
