Bram Welten will make his return to racing with BMC Development Team at Ronde de l’Oise following the crash at Tour de Bretagne which left him with a broken collarbone.

Sports Director Klaas Lodewyck said he is expecting a strong showing from the six-rider squad.

“We’re taking a really strong team to Ronde de L’Oise. All the guys on the squad are capable of getting a good result and therefore we are not going into the race with one clear leader. Everyone will have the chance to go for success and we are looking forward to being competitive on every stage. Of course it’s great to see Bram back racing too.

Bram Welten is looking forward to rejoining his teammates in the peloton.

“It’s been a long road to recovery since breaking my collarbone in Brittany. The first week back on the bike was tough but after that I was making improvement day by day. I’m coming into the race with a good block of training behind me and I am really looking to racing with my teammates again at Ronde de l’Oise. For me, it’s not so much about getting a result but more getting the race days in the legs and building up my race form and speed again.”

Ronde de l’Oise (9 - 12 June)

Rider roster: Sam Dobbs (NZL), Fabian Lienhard (SUI), Lukas Spengler (SUI), Bas Tietema (NED), Nathan Van Hooydonck (BEL), Bram Welten (NED)
