Alejandro Valverde (Movistar Team) took the win in the 191.8-kilometer race ahead of his teammate, José Joaquín Rojas. BMC Racing Team's Tejay van Garderen – who finished third at this race a year ago – and past Catalunya stage winner Samuel Sánchez finished in the pack as Maciej Paterski (CCC Sprandi-Polkowice) kept the overall lead.
