Tour de Romandie, Stage 5: Atapuma Moves Up

Darwin Atapuma of the BMC Racing Team climbed his way up the overall standings Saturday on another rain-soaked day in the mountains at the Tour de Romandie.

Atapuma finished 12th on the race's penultimate stage, a mountain-top finish, and moved from 18th to 12th overall, 1:20 behind new race leader Ilnur Zakarin (Team Katusha). BMC Racing Team's Damiano Caruso, who had been 11th overall, finished 30th on the day – 4:08 behind solo stage winner Thibault Pinot (FDJ).

Sunday's final stage is a 17.3 kilometer individual time trial.
