BMC Development Team heads back to Belgium this week with riders lining up at IWT - Oetingen tomorrow (June 28) and Omloop Het Nieuwsblad U23 on Saturday (July 1).

Sports Director Klaas Lodewyck said that Omloop Het Nieuwsblad U23 will be the team’s main focus.

“IWT - Oetingen is a great build up race for Omloop Het Nieuwsblad U23. It is still a hard race but for us, the goal will be Saturday and the squad is more or less the same for both. With some of our riders coming straight from their National Championships and out of a tough first part of the season, we are not lining up with a specific leader. We will aim to ride as a team and give everyone the chance to try something if the opportunity arises. We know that Pascal Eenkhoorn is in good form, especially after the Giro d’Italia U23, where he worked a lot for the team. He came back with good results on home soil so we can potentially look to him to be our primary finisher but everyone else will be able to try for a result if they feel good.”

Pascal Eenkhoorn is feeling confident in his form after a busy block of racing.

“IWT - Oetingen was potentially my hardest race last year, so it is not an easy warm up to Omloop Het Nieuwsblad U23. The level is always really high at this race, and it is a hard parcours. It is similar to Omloop Het Nieuwsblad, so it will be a good test ahead of Saturday. I’ve just finished a good block of racing with the Giro d’Italia U23 and then the National Championships. I felt really good, and hopefully, I can keep this form going into these two race. The racing is always really open at both so, you never know what to expect, but we have a good team. Everyone will get the opportunity to try something and hopefully we can get a good result,” Eenkhoorn explained.
