2016 runner-up, Pavel Sivakov returns to the Liège-Bastogne-Liège U23 start line on Saturday (April 15) as part of BMC Development Team’s six-rider roster.

BMC Development Team is taking a strong and confident team to the one-day race, Sports Director Klaas Lodewyck said.

“I think we can be competitive with the six riders that will head to the start line. As usual, we will play to the strengths of the team and see how the race develops. But, with Pavel Sivakov lining up, we have a lot of motivation to build upon last year’s performance.”

“I am also interested to see how Patrick Müller and Marc Hirschi performance as they are looking in great shape and we saw them fighting for podium positions at Tour of Flanders U23 also.”

Pavel Sivakov is looking for repeat success at the Belgian classic.

“I am confident heading to Liège-Bastogne-Liège. It is a hard race, but I think it suits me really well. Last year I was able to take second place, so I'm definitely motivated to race for another really good result.”

“I didn't have the best form at my first few races of the season, but after Tour of Flanders U23, I felt good, and I was happy to see my shape back where I want it to be. With the riders we have on the team, I think we can really challenge for the win. Everyone is at a very high level right now, so we will all be working hard on Saturday,” Sivakov explained.
