A squad of six riders head to Italy this weekend to wrap up the season with BMC Development Team at the Italian one-day classic Piccolo Giro di Lombardia on Sunday, 2 October.

Sports Director Jens Blatter said that the team will be heading to Italy with a strong squad with multiple options.

"Alongside the final stage of Olympia's Tour, this will be our last race of the 2016 season as a team. This is a traditional race and one with a lot of prestige so it will be important to put in a good performance here. We will have a strong team lining up at the start line and with Kilian Frankiny and Taylor Eisenhart on the roster we will have two leaders for the race."

"Both riders have been riding at a high level recently and are coming here super motivated after a successful season. We also have Zeke Mostov, Sam Dobbs, Mario Spengler and Patrick Muller on the team, who will not only be a great support to our leaders but who also have the ability to ride well in breakaways. This is a race where we have been on the podium before but never won so we will definitely be going there this year racing for victory," Blatter commented.

Taylor Eisenhart is looking forward to racing at Piccolo Giro di Lombardia and coming back for last BMC Development Team race of 2016 having been promoted to a stagiaire position with BMC Racing Team.

"I'm definitely excited about Sunday's race having raced here two years ago I know that is a beautiful parcours and the fall weather makes it a great way to end of the season. Racing with the pro team has truly been one of the greatest experience of my life. I have a good time with the team and everyone has been super nice and supportive."

"I'm coming back from a stomach flu after Tour of Britain so I have been taking it day by day. I not sure what I can expect for myself on Sunday but I'll leave that for the race to decide. If I feel good then I feel good and I will definitely be giving it 100% no matter what for the team as I really love this race,” Eisenhart added.
