Indergand and Flückiger win penultimate stage at Swiss Epic

16. September 2016, Verbier, Switzerland — Melanie Leveau — MTB Team

The Swiss pair won another stage of the stage race and increased their lead with one stage to go.

After a tough day yesterday where they lost a couple of minutes on their main rivals, Reto Indergand and Lukas Flückiger were keen to take another win today and anchor their lead. They crossed the line more than two minutes ahead of the Centurion Vaude and the Scott – Odlo MTB Racing Teams and increased their lead up to 5’03’’.

Tomorrow’s stage – the last one of this year’s Swiss Epic – being less than 50 km, it should favor the cross-country specialists. “But everything can happen in such a race: a flat tyre, a mechanical, a crash… so it is important to stay focused and keep with the leading group” explained Alex Moos who is obviously happy with the way the two BMC MTB Racing Teams are racing in his native mountains of Wallis.
