Hat-trick at BMC Racing Cup in Jura

13. July 2015, Montsevelier, Switzerland — MTB Team

The BMC Racing Team dominated the sixth round of the BMC Racing Cup in Montsevelier. Lukas Flückiger won the race ahead of Ralph Näf and Martin Fanger and gained a lot of confidence and is highly motivated for the Swiss Championships next Sunday in Langendorf, close to the BMC headquarters.

With four riders in the race, the team were able to take control from the start with Lukas Flückiger and Ralph Näf opening a gap on a chasing group made of three riders, including Martin Fanger. On the fun course and its two short, but technical downhills on loose ground, the duo worked well together to build a solid gap. In the penultimate lap, once they were sure that first and second places had been secured, Lukas went on his own rhythm and rode to victory; his first victory of the 2015 season. "This win comes at the right time. It gives me confidence for the Swiss Championships. I do not want to make big plans, but I really like the Championships course, and obviously I am in great shape." He is also leading the BMC Racing Cup overall standings with one race to go.

One minute behind him, Ralph finished in second. “Lukas was stronger, but I am quite happy with my performance“ he said as soon as he crossed the line.

Martin Fanger completed the podium and felt relieved to be in such good shape after last weekend’s illness, while Reto Indergand rounded out a good day for the team in sixth place.
