Gilbert 10th At Worlds Road Race

BMC Racing Team's Philippe Gilbert, riding for Belgium, finished 10th Sunday in the UCI world road race championships.

Race winner Peter Sagan (Slovakia) attacked up the cobbled climb of 23rd Street and soloed to win the 261-kilometer race.

Michael Matthews (Australia) was runner-up and  Ramunas Navardauskas (Lithuania) finished third.

Other BMC Racing Team finishers were Brent Bookwalter (19th), Greg Van Avermaet (23rd), Silvan Dillier (28th), Manuel Quinziato (82nd) and Taylor Phinney (85th).
