Our riders have clocked thousands of hours this season, whether on-race or training, so we thought it was time to put the spotlight on them to find out a little bit more about their lives both on and off their BMC Teammachine SLR01s.

Rider profile

Name: Patrick Emanuel Müller

Age: 20

Nickname: Or names in my case! Patje (for the Belgium guys), Patoche (for the French guys) and Paede (for the Swiss guys).

Where do you call home: I still live and train in the Schaffhausen area of Switzerland.

How long have you been riding with BMC Development Team: I have been riding with the team since 2015.

On the bike:

Proudest achievement so far: Winning the U23 Swiss National Championships in my first year back in 2015. It was an emotional win

Favourite thing about riding in the peloton: When you are having a good day and feel that you are a little stronger than the rest of the pack.

Favourite race: That's easy... Giro di Lombardia.

Favourite place to train: Mallorca.

Ultimate goal: To become a good pro rider and eventually win some nice races.

Off the bike

Favourite film or TV show: Suits!

Favourite musician or band: Actually I love all kind of music. I couldn't pick just one style!

Favourite food: It's got to be Italian.

Best way to recover after a race: Good food and some nice race stories around the dinner table .

If you didn’t cycle what sport would you do? Triathlon.

I bet you didn't know that? I started racing when I was seven years old. My first passion was mountain biking and then I turned my focus to road racing and cyclocross. Later I started riding around in circles as well. In my career so far I’ve already won medals at National level on all terrains.
