Kilian Frankiny will lead BMC Development Team next week when a five-rider strong team lines up at Giro della Valle d'Aosta Mont Blanc.

Sports Director, Jens Blatter is confident in the abilities of the whole BMC Development Team squad.

"Giro Valle d'Aosta Mont Blanc is definitely one of the hardest stage races that BMC Development Team will face all year. It has a lot of long, steep climbs unlike anywhere else in the U23 calendar. Frankiny will be our leader for this race and we are heading to Italy with a strong team who will be able to give him the best support needed for a good result.”

“Last year, Frankiny finished fourth and was second on the queen stage so this year we will try to put him on the podium. However, I think all the other riders on the squad are equally capable of producing good results and everyone is very motivated,” said Blatter.

Kilian Frankiny is relishing the opportunity to lead the team and make a challenge for the General Classification.

“I am feeling really good right now. I have just come back from a training camp with my national squad. I am really looking forward to this race and I am really motivated. I have been racing really well recently and I feel that I will be able to to continue this form here especially after the solid training that I have been doing. I finished fourth last year and I feel much stronger now so I am going in with the goal of making the podium on the General Classification.”
