EWS#2, Though day in Ireland

25. May 2015, County Wicklow, Ireland — Enduro Team

Ireland was the host of the second round of the Enduro World Series. If the event did not disappoint, unfortunately it did not provide great racing and results for the BMC Factory Trailcrew.

With seven very short and rather flat stages, all designed on the same small hill and ridden on one single day, the race in Ireland was very atypical.

Starting with number 8 and 15 in their respective categories, Lorraine Truong and François Bailly-Maître arrived with high expectations even though the terrain was far from being their favorite: “too flat!” was their first reaction after the course walk.

François decided to race with his Speedfox SF01 : “With so many tight corners and berms, the Speedfox was the perfect bike”. Unfortunately, some mechanical issues kept him out of the top 15, his goal for the weekend. He finished 25th of a race won by local rider Greg Callaghan.

Lorraine Truong struggled a bit with the long hours and the saddle and never really found the right rhythm. Disappointed with her 11th place, the Swiss rider is looking forward to steeper trails.

Kerstin Kögler and Florian Golay finished 23rd and 44th respectively.

This weekend, the BMC Factory Trailcrew is competing in the 3rd round of the Enduro World Series that takes place in Tweedlove, Scotland.
