End of season for Lars Forster

29. August 2016 — Melanie Leveau — MTB Team

Lars Forster will not take part to the final round of the UCI MTB World Cup and the Swiss Epic.

The rookie of the BMC MTB Racing Team suffered a crash in the last lap of the Olympic Games in Rio which left left him with an open knee. He couldn’t cross the finish line of his first Olympic race and had to go to the hospital to get a few stitches.

But what made him take the decision to put an end to his 2016 season is a dislocated shoulder. “It’s the fourth time it happens so I’ll undergo surgery on Wednesday” he explained. “It’s never a good time for such things but a surgery early September gives me enough time to recover from the season and train for the end of the cyclo-cross season”. If all goes well, Forster should start his winter season in December.
