Corinne Abraham makes a successful comeback from Injury

9. November 2015 — Triathlon Team

Corinne Abraham of the Uplace-BMC Pro Triathlon Team celebrated a successful comeback from an injury that kept her on the side lines for the last 6 months this weekend. A 3rd place finish in IM 70.3 Austin yesterday shows she is clearly on the way up again and on track for a good performance at Ironman Cozumel in three weeks’ time.

The race on American soil, didn’t start well for Corinne, she came out of the water in 15th position, but after a furious chase on her Timemachine TM01, she was back in contention for a podium place. During the run, Corinne showed great form from the beginning until the end. Even though the course challenged her, she ran smartly. By the time the half-way point came ‘round she had closed the gap with the girls in front of her. “I felt strong but I tried not to rush myself, instead I focused on keeping my form and making up time step by step”. Coming through the halfway point she moved into 4th place and from then on she knew that a podium place was possible. In the last mile, she passed Heather Lendway to finish her first race in 6 months and bag a spot on the podium. Jeanni Seymour and Lauren Barnett finished in first and second place. Corinne is now staying on in the USA and will train in Austin until the 20th of November before travelling to Cozumel on the 29th of November.
