BMC Development Team Set for Competitive Rhône-Alpes Isère Tour1. May 2017, Santa Rosa, California (USA) — Development Team
BMC Development Team is set to continue racing in France this week as a six-rider roster lines up for the first of four stages at Rhône-Alpes Isère Tour on Wednesday, May 3.
Sports Director Jens Blatter said that BMC Development Team is taking a wealth of young talent to the race.
“Rhône-Alpes Isère Tour will be the next important stage race for the team. It will be the first time that we have participated in this race, and the level is always very high. But, we are also taking a strong team with multiple options. Rather than starting with a specific team leader, we will take it day by day and see how the race unfolds.”
“As we have been doing over the past few weeks, we will look to ride offensively. I think with riders like Patrick Müller, Pavel Sivakov, Pascal Eenkhoorn and Jasper Philipsen we have a lot of horsepower in the team. Plus we will have options when we hit the climbs with Steff Cras and Marc Hirschi.”
“I also want to take this moment to send my condolences to the family, friends and Axeon Hagens Berman teammates of Chad Young. Our thoughts and prayers are with you all at this devastating time.”
Pavel Sivakov is ready for the challenge that lies ahead in France.
“I'm really looking forward to Rhône-Alpes Isère Tour as I think it is a race that could suit me well. The level will be very high next week with five UCI Pro-Continental teams with some big names lining up. But, we are going there with a very strong team, and I'm sure we can fight for the win against these big teams. It’s always nice to race at a high level. You always become stronger after the experience,” Sivakov explained.
