The BMC Development Team will return to the Ardennes this week as they look to continue to show their strong form at the Triptique Ardennais (19 - 22 May).

Sport director Klaas Lodewyck thinks that the opening prologue will be an early indicator of the GC contenders.

“We start with a short prologue of 5 kilometers. It’s a very technical course, with lots of turns but completely flat. We have such a strong team so I think it will be important for any race leader to do well here. The route suits Pascal [Eenkhoorn] and TJ [Taylor Eisenhart] really well. It’s pretty hard in the Ardennes, pretty much up and down all day. so I think they will be the guys who will have to do it in the GC for us. With the other riders on our team, we will take the race day by day and look out for opportunities,” Lodewyck said.

After winning the Youth Classification at the Tour de Berlin, Pascal Eenhoorn is looking to maintain his form in Belgium.

“There has only been a few days between Tour de Berlin and this race but I think I have recovered well. I like racing in the Ardennes so hopefully I can continue the way I was riding in Berlin. Most of the stage are on roads that I don’t know so I am not sure what to expect but I hope to do ride well and get good results for myself as well as provide support to create opportunities for the team,” Eenkhoorn said.
