BMC Development Team Ready to Race at Flèche du Sud3. May 2016, Santa Rosa, Cali. (USA) — Development Team
The BMC Development Team will continue their busy racing schedule in Luxembourg this week as they head to the 2016 edition of Flèche du Sud (4-8 May).
Sports Director Klaas Lodewyck said that he has confidence in the team heading to Luxembourg.
“The riders on the team the team for this race have produced some encouraging results recently, in particular Fabian [Lienhard] at the Tour de Bretagne, and Nathan [Van Hooydonck] at the Belgian National ITT Championships. The route is not going to be easy but I think that all our riders are very capable and strong enough to get good results. I am looking forward to seeing them ride as a team and working all together to go for the win,” said Lodewyck.
Fabian Lienhard said that he is looking forward to keeping the momentum going after Tour de Bretagne.
“I really like this race. I was sixth two years and now I am two years older, I hope I can challenge for a podium place. It’s new for me to do back to back races but my motivation is high and I am feeling in good shape after my week in Brittany. The whole team is looking really strong as well and I think that we will have lots of options to go for results,” said Lienhard.
After winning the Belgian National ITT Championships last weekend, Nathan Van Hooydonck is looking forward to racing with his teammates in Luxembourg.
“I am still wondering how my collarbone will be throughout the race but I will be taking it day by day. If I am good condition, I think this race will suit me well. I am super excited about racing alongside my BMC teammates again as well as working with the team staff. They make me so comfortable and confident and I am will give 100 percent to help the team progress and achieve good results,” said Van Hooydonck.
