BMC Development Team Ready for Competitive GP La Magne25. August 2016, Santa Rosa, California (USA) — Development Team
A strong six-rider BMC Development Team squad will line up at the Belgian one-day race GP La Magne this Sunday, 29 August.
Sports Director Jens Blatter thinks that the team is capable of producing a strong result heading into the final part of the season
“With some of our older riders racing with their national teams or riding as stagiaires for BMC Racing Team, this s a big chance for our younger riders to show what they are capable of and I'm sure they will perform very well. We're heading into the final six weeks of the season, so we want to be active in the race and go for breakaways and really give it our all to go for a good result here,” Blatter commented.
Bas Tietema is looking forward to GP La Magne after previously finishing on podium at the race.
"I've just returned from a trip to Japan with Shimano so we will see how I have recovered but I have been feeling good and done some solid training this week. I know the parcours quite well and I have enjoyed racing here previously. In my first year riding U23 I finished third so I hope I will be able to do something similar or even better this year."
"I think it's going to be pretty warm on Sunday which will make it a very hot day of racing but that won't hold us back. We are going into the race aiming for a good result and a win for the team is definitely our number one goal. Plus we are racing in Soumagne, the home of our soigneur Patrice Hemroulle, so that will give us some extra motivation,” Tietema added.
