A squad of six BMC Development Team riders head to the high mountains of the French Alps this week for the Tour des Pays de Savoie.

Sport Director, Jens Blatter thinks that BMC Development Team are ready to tackle the challenging terrain in Savoy.

“This is potentially one of the hardest races of the year for us. It’s a big climbing stage race which takes place more or less in the same area as the Criterium du Dauphiné. In the first races of this season, our climbers have been done a great job supporting our rouleurs but now it’s now time for them to show what they can really do. We have a strong team heading to Savoy with a good mix of strong climbers who will be able to challenge for not only stage wins but also on the GC. There will be no easing into this race with both the first and second stages looking like they could place an important, early role in deciding the final GC outcome.”

Taylor Eisenhart is looking forward to making his debut at Tour des Pays de Savoie.

“I'm really excited to race at Tour de Pays de Savoie! I've never raced here before so I’m not quite sure what to expect but I think that gives me extra motivation and excitement. I'm also really excited to get back to racing with my teammates. We always have a great team atmosphere at races.”

“I'm coming to this races after a three week break from racing. I raced a huge spring campaign so I've been just doing a lot of recovery to slowly bring myself back up. I feel that I've done everything I can do and now it's just time to see how that translates into the race. I fly home to the US after this race following four months in Europe so I am going to give it my all and hopefully will be able to go home with a good result, whether that’s a on a stage or on the GC.”
