Amelia Watkinson takes the victory at IM70.3 Philippines

7. August 2017, Cebu, Philippines — Triathlon Team

Another great weekend for the BMC- Etixx Pro Triathlon Team powered by Uplace, Amelia Watkinson has won IM70.3 Philippines yesterday. Amelia took a convincing victory and edged out Australians Jacqueline Thistleton and Kerry Mulholland in stunning Cebu.

Amelia Watkinson looked back at her performance: "I am really happy with my performance today. The atmosphere in the Philippines was awesome again, the bike and run course were lined with spectators, flags and chanting. But is was a very tough day in the heat, coming from 15 degrees last week in Europe to 40 degrees real feel here in Cebu! I swam well and exited the water in a lead group of 5. It was a very fast flat bike course, which narrowed the group down to two of us midway. I managed to break away towards the end and I lead off the bike by a minute- which wasn't quite as much as I was hoping for. But I had a very solid run and managed to hold a steady pace extending my lead kilometer per kilometer. I am really happy to take the win here today."
