Rider profile

Stefan Küng may be young but he is definitely powerful, and since turning professional with BMC Racing Team in 2015 he has shown time and time again that he can be up there with the best in the world.

Over the 2016 season, Küng produced consistently strong time trial performances including finishing 3rd on Stage 1 of Ster ZLM Toer - GP Jan van Heeswijk and 7th on Stage 9 of the Giro d’Italia. His show of skill on the BMC Timemachine saw him selected as part of BMC Racing Team’s World Team Time Trial Championships squad for the second consecutive year.

The former European U23 Road Race and Time Trial Champion has also shown his potential when is comes to one-day races and stage racing.Küng took his first victory as a professional at the 2015 edition of the Volta Limburg Classic.

He also has two Tour de Romandie stage victories on his palmares. The first came on stage 4 in 2015, and he followed this up with an equally impressive breakaway performance in 2017, taking the win on stage 2 before going on to help the team to overall victory.
