Specialties and Strengths: Stage racing, time trials, one-day races
When you think of Manuel Quinziato one word comes to mind; road captain. Set to line up for his 16th year as a professional rider in 2017, Quinziato is one of the most experienced riders in the peloton. The Italian has spent the past six years racing for BMC Racing Team, during which time he has played an instrumental role as a super domestique, as well as winning in his own right.
Quinziato is one of the team’s biggest powerhouses and this strength has seen him race in the team’s two UCI World Team Time Trial Championships in 2014 and 2015, as well as many stage race Team Time Trials. Quinziato proved his individual time trial strength when he clocked the fastest time to become the Italian National Time Trial champion in 2016.
Whilst often seen riding on the front of the peloton on the cobbles or in stage races, Quinziato showed he has the ability to win when he took the honors on stage 7 of the 2015 Eneco Tour, the same race at which he recorded his first professional win in 2006.
