Rider profile

Francisco Ventoso joins BMC Racing Team in 2017, bringing a wealth of experience in winning races and in the most recent years of his career, assuming the role of key domestique at one-day races and Grand Tours. Like his soon-to-be fellow Spaniard teammate, Samuel Sánchez, Ventoso is one of the most-experienced riders in the peloton with 13 years of racing in the legs.

Ventoso is a multiple Grand Tour stage winner, at the Giro d’Italia and Vuelta a Espana, and has taken countless wins on home soil at races such as Vuelta a Burgos, Vuelta a Castilla y Leon, Vuelta a Andalucia Ruta Ciclista del Sol and Vuelta a La Comunidad de Madrid.

With 29 Classics and 11 Grand Tours behind him, Ventoso will play a key role in BMC Racing Team’s Classic and Grand Tour ambitions in 2017 and beyond.
