BMC Development Team is a United States-registered elite amateur team. The team was founded with the vision of developing the next generation of cycling
talent and identifying emerging top cyclists who could, after gaining experience with BMC Development Team, make the transition to BMC Racing Team. Since 2013, seven riders have moved up the ranks to BMC Racing Team, a testament to the success of BMC Development Team in priming young cyclists for the professional ranks. Former BMC Racing Team rider Klaas Lodewyck has stepped up as Sports Director for the 2016 season, a role which sees him work side by side with Jens Blatter, General Manager and Sports Director. Lodewyck’s passion for cycling and motivation has seen the BMC Development Team riders flourish under his guidance. BMC Development Team is home to five current national champions and recorded 16 wins in 2016.

BMC Switzerland is a Swiss, premium, performance cycling manufacturer. Established in 1994, the company employs approx. 200 people worldwide. BMC Switzerland’s relationship to performance cycling began when it began supplying the Swiss professional road racing team Phonak with performance bikes in 2001. Today BMC Switzerland sponsors 4 world class professional racing teams; the BMC Racing Team, BMC Mountainbike Racing Team, Uplace BMC Professional Triathlon Racing Team and the BMC Enduro Racing Team. The company is headquartered in Grenchen, Switzerland where it also has its very own carbon production and R&D facility - the Impec Advanced R&D Lab. BMC Switzerland’s bikes are ridden by the world’s top athletes including Tour de France winner 2011 Cadel Evans, 2012 UCI World Road Champion Philippe Gilbert and 2014 UCI World XCO champion - Julien Absalon.
The Impec Lab is BMC’s portal to the future, an experimental playground that allows us to reach beyond what we see today. Located in a small Swiss town between the Jura Mountain Range and the Swiss Alps, here fully-automated machines and highly-skilled craftsmen have been producing carbon framesets from scratch since 2007. Developed using unique assembly and construction methods, the knowledge gleaned from Impec frame production has fostered unique skillsets at BMC, especially in the areas of load-specific carbon fiber types, weave technologies, resin matrices, layup schedules and tube shapes.

The BMC Racing Team will surely test their travel gear to extremes in 2016, with more for more than 280 days of racing around the globe. The SRM PowerMeter is a power measurement tool designed to quantify a cyclist’s real-time power output. The PowerMeter was invented by SRM founder, Uli Schoberer, in 1986. With the support of the cycling community, professional riders, and coaches, SRM has grown into the most accurate and trusted power measurement system available. The BMC Racing Team uses the SRM Training System to monitor data including power, cadence, speed, and heart rate throughout training sessions, during races, and in post-ride analysis.
Elite is located in an old 19th century brickworks in Fontaniva, a small town 60 kilometers from Venice. From manual work to engineering, the passion is always the same, and the aim is always to create new products for cyclists worldwide. The story of Elite is made of successes and new discoveries which always start from the work of engineers, technicians, market men and of course cycling enthusiasts; in fact, the new products launched on the market are the result of internal research and they are now about three hundred. An important component to Elite’s partnership with the BMC Racing Team is product testing and development.
Vittoria Industries Ltd. is an international group, that acquired the famous premium cotton tubular tires producer Vittoria S.p.A. in 1990. Vittoria has built highly reputable partnerships within in the cycling industry and created a distinct brand image. Vittoria’s research & development center is well-known for developing the best racing tires at all levels. For this reason the revolutionary material Graphene caught our attention. An additional investment was needed to build a new compound factory and add the capability for 4C (four different compounds in a tread). Vittoria’s World Championship-proven MTB tires are now benefitting significantly from the addition of the Graphene and the new 4C. Scientific evidence and testing confirmed the significant increase in speed, but also greatly improved (wet) grip, puncture resistance and durability. Vittoria is now able to leverage these greatly enhanced properties of rubber with Graphene in exactly the right areas, making this factory one of the most innovative R&D centers ever dedicated to the cycling industry.
