BMC Development Team is a United States-registered elite amateur team. The team was founded with the vision of developing the next generation of cycling
talent and identifying emerging top cyclists who could, after gaining experience with BMC Development Team, make the transition to BMC Racing Team. Since 2013, seven riders have moved up the ranks to BMC Racing Team, a testament to the success of BMC Development Team in priming young cyclists for the professional ranks. Former BMC Racing Team rider Klaas Lodewyck has stepped up as Sports Director for the 2016 season, a role which sees him work side by side with Jens Blatter, General Manager and Sports Director. Lodewyck’s passion for cycling and motivation has seen the BMC Development Team riders flourish under his guidance. BMC Development Team is home to five current national champions and recorded 16 wins in 2016.

Our 2017 goals are

Leo Appelt

To perform

I want to continue to build up my strength in 2017 and at all the races I line up, I want to show that I am capable of performing at a high level.

Pierre Barbier

To learn

I think joining this team will help me to evolve as a rider and I think there are some very nice races in France where I will get the chance to show what I am capable of.

Steff Cras

To win

I am joining this team in my third year riding U23 so for me it’s the time to aim higher than previous years and that means winning races.

Sam Dobbs

To improve

2017 will be my second season with this team so my main goal is to continue to improve my condition and put in some good performances.

Pascal Eenkhoorn

To win

I’m really happy to stay with this team for 2017 and I want to continue to progress and win races for myself and for the team.

Marc Hirschi

To improve

2017 will be a big step in the right direction for my career and I want to use this year to improve my bike skills and learn as much as possible.

Patrick Müller

To get results

My main goal for 2017 is to simply have a successful, and winning, season for myself as well as the team.

Reto Müller

To learn

As this is my first year as an U23 rider, I am looking to learn as much as possible and I want to continue to progress as a cyclist.

Jasper Philipsen

To learn

This is my first year as an U23 rider and I'm motivated to defend the colors of the team and learn a lot from the more experienced riders.

Martin Schäppi

To improve

I want to make the most of this big opportunity and take another step up in my abilities and would like to ride at the Tour of Flanders.

Callum Scotson

To develop

I want to perform well in time trials plus I think some of the flatter one-day races will suit me well with my track cycling background.

Pavel Sivakov

To win

I’ve learned a lot in 2016 and after a lot of second places, I have a lot of motivation to race for wins this season.

Mario Spengler

To ride the Classics

I am looking forward to racing with the team again and I want to perform well in the classic races and do my best for the team.

Tanguy Turgis

To discover

This is my first year riding U23 so I am looking forward to finding my way and riding well for both myself and my new teammates.

Nathan Van Hooydonck

To win

My main target in the first part of the 2017 season will be the Tour of Flanders, as I have some unfinished business there.

Bram Welten

To perform

I really developed my skills last season so for 2017 my main goal is to win and I hope to be in good shape for some of the classics races.
