BMC Development Team is a United States-registered elite amateur team. The team was founded with the vision of developing the next generation of cycling
talent and identifying emerging top cyclists who could, after gaining experience with BMC Development Team, make the transition to BMC Racing Team. Since 2013, six riders have moved up the ranks to BMC Racing Team, a testament to the success of BMC Development Team in priming young cyclists for the professional ranks. Former BMC Racing Team rider Klaas Lodewyck has stepped up as Sports Director for the 2016 season, a role which sees him work side by side with Jens Blatter, General Manager and Sports Director. Lodewyck’s passion for cycling and motivation has seen the BMC Development Team riders flourish under his guidance. BMC Development Team is home to four current national champions and recorded 19 wins in 2015.

Our 2016 goals are

Leo Appelt

To learn

My main goal for the 2016 season is to learn more about how to ride well and develop the necessary skills as a rider to enable me to turn professional.

Sam Dobbs

To perform

I want to perform well for the team and individually throughout the season, with a particular focus on the climbing races.

Pascal Eenkhoorn

To learn

At all of the races I line up at this year I want to learn as much as possible and develop my skills as a bike rider.

Taylor TJ Jorden Eisenhart

To race at Tour des Pays de Savoie

My big goal for the 2016 season is to target the General Classification at the Tour des Pays de Savoie.

Kilian Frankiny

To podium

If I could name one goal for this season it would be to reach the podium at the Giro Valle d’Aosta.

Fabian Lienhard

To give my best

I want to give my absolute best at all of the races I line up at, particularly the Tour de Bretagne and the Swiss championships.

Zeke Mostov

To gain experience

This year is all about gaining as much racing experience as possible so that I can continue to improve as a rider.

Patrick Emanuel Müller

To win

Of course the goal is always to win but this season I really hope that I have the chance to be on the top step of a podium.

Martin Schäppi

To ride internationally

This season I want to learn from the other older riders and discover my first U23 international races.

Pavel Sivakov

To get results

As my first year in the U23 category I want to learn as much as possible with the team because it is a big step up from the junior category.

Lukas Spengler

To win

I would really like to get a win this season for the BMC Development Team and stand on the top step of the podium in my BMC Development Team kit.

Mario Spengler

To qualify

My main goal of the 2016 season is to qualify for the Swiss Elite team.

Keegan Swirbul

To be KOM

I would really like to win a race in the high mountains and show what I can do as a climber.

Bas Tietema

To ride Paris-Roubaix

My biggest goal of this year is to ride Paris-Roubaix U23 edition as I love this kind of racing.

Nathan Van Hooydonck

To win at Flanders

I have my sights set on winning the U23 Tour of Flanders as this is a really special race.

Bram Welten

To develop skills

I want to develop my skills as a classics rider and a sprinter and learn from the older riders and staff.
