fourstroke FS01 29

fourstroke FS01 29 XTR

More than a race bike

The BMC fourstroke is one of the very few full suspension 29er mountain bikes successfully used on the WorldCup level. This fact alone sets it apart as an outstanding race bike. But then the fourstroke was always meant to be much more than that. The 29er wheels in conjunction with our BWC geometry, APS suspension and high overall stiffness inspire so much confidence that the BMC fourstroke is also an incredibly fast and capable trail bike.
If there is just one category the fourstroke FS01 fully belongs to, this is quite simply mountain biking.

Technology Focus – fourstroke FS01 29 XTR

The fourstroke FS01 full carbon dropouts are designed for a 12x142 mm through-axle system and are assembled with specific Shimano or Sram direct-mount derailleur hangers depending on the groupset. The brake caliper attachment follows the 160 mm Shimano postmount standard.

BMC fourstroke FS01 29

Our fourstroke has always been a race bike, built with potential to be a lot more.

  • BWC

    Big Wheel Concept

Agility & stability - Purposeful geometry and cockpit design means our 29" bikes are nimble, stable and incredibly efficient.
  • APS

    Advanced Pivot System

No compromises - APS suspension technology allows you to pedal hard, brake fast, and soak up bumps without compromise.
This BMC is one of the best crosscountry fullys out there. I'm always standing out of the pedals, but on this bike that's no problem, I can lock it so its really stiff. So, its different downhill - its more easy!

Though the FS01's optimized carbon fiber design dances within the 2 kg frame weight barrier, its supremely light weight does not detract from the ride quality. BMC's Advanced Pivot System (APS), specifically with our big wheel geometry, provides the perfect balance of comfort, control and efficiency.

Thanks to the teamelite's Big Wheel Concept (BWC) geometry, the bike feels stable yet nimble, letting you effortlessly charge a line through steep, technical single tracks. For high speeds, the bike's low bottom bracket, long top tube, and relaxed head angle work together to keep the bike stable and its rider confident on the roughest trails.
